Global Missions

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations..."

Jesus told his disciples they would be His witnesses “to Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

This verse describes the historic progression of the gospel, and it serves as a helpful model for churches. We are called to proclaim the gospel not only in our local city (our Jerusalem), but also to different people groups (our Samaria), and different places (the ends of the earth.) For that reason, we desire to be a church that is actively seeking to proclaim the gospel globally. We do this by sponsoring short term trips, supporting missionaries on long term assignment, and sending out members of our congregation into long term opportunities.

Short Term Trips

City of Refuge sponsors short-term mission projects including an annual trip to the Dominican Republic. These trips encourage churches in other countries and also give our members exposure to global missions. If you are planning to participate in a short term or long term missions assignment we invite you apply for support. Please fill out the form that can be found here.
