“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
Service completes our worship, promotes our own spiritual formation, exhibits our gratitude, and enhances our witness to the world.
It is that time again! The City of Refuge Nominating Team for church officers. From now through September 30, 2020, the Team will be accepting nominations from the congregation for the offices of Elder, Deacon and 2021 nominating team congregational representative. We want to urge you to check the City of Refuge website for further information on the available offices, what it means to serve, the nomination process, and our timeline for action. City of Refuge urgently needs at least four (4) new Deacons/Deaconesses and are praying for at least one (1) new Elder and one (1)nominating team member (to assist with the process) to be elected this year.
In obedience to scripture, City of Refuge Elders exhort all congregational members to prayerfully and diligently pursue potential candidates for these offices. Also, if you are approached for nomination, we urge you to pray fervently on this opportunity to serve as an officer in God’s house on behalf of His people. Please view this call as a possible nudge from the Lord and allow your name to be submitted for consideration.
Finally, we recognize that, where people come from many different church backgrounds, there is often confusion about church leadership roles. One of the goasl of the Nominating Team is to educate you and address your questions throughout this process. Contact Nominations@CityofRefuge.org, and someone on the Nominating Committee will respond directly to you
