We love little children at City of Refuge – just as Jesus did, and still does! So, under the leadership of Jacqueline Smith, our Pastor’s wife, we have designed ministries perfectly suited for infants, toddlers and primary-school students, whether members or visitors.
The littlest among us – our infants, crawlers/creepers, toddlers, and pre-K/3s and 4s – are showered with attention. They are loved on and cared for in age-appropriate rooms with well-defined guidelines regarding cleanliness and safety.
Each Sunday morning children in grades K-5 come together to study the Bible in special groups. Children who are members and regular attendees at COR form permanent groups or “Circles of Friends.” Visitors are placed in Circles, too. Each Circle is treated to an interactive Bible study as the group moves among custom-created Discovery Centers, where children learn the bible lesson visually, auditorally, or tactilely. The centers through which the Circles of Friends rotate are drama, music and memory, project-with-a-purpose (service), surprise station (science), games and journaling (wrap-up).
Children of all ages connect, learn, play and experience their new lives with other children from our church family, from our church neighborhood, and with visitors from our city and world
