The Refuge Community Development Center

Although aligned with the calling of The City of Refuge Church (COR), the Refuge Community Development Center, or RCDC, is a separate 501 C3. While sharing a commitment with COR to “Blend Suburban and Urban Believers,” its governing board and budget are distinct.

The mission of RCDC is to blend Urban and Suburban families through educational, vocational, recreational and theatrical activities, while promoting the Judeo-Christian values of racial unity and economic opportunity for all peoples.

RCDC is designed to authentically attract area and citywide residents through non-traditional activities and service opportunities. RCDC focuses principally on educational, vocational, recreational and theatrical development.

The RCDC’s educational ministries include After-School Enrichment, Family and Personal Counseling Services, Recovery Support Groups and Mother’s Day Out – Urban Style

The vocational ministries include the fabulous WINGS Life Skills Adult Training Course, Friendship Circle Mentoring, Corporate and Entrepreneurial Training For “At Risk Students.

The recreational ministries include team sports, including baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, roller hockey, swimming, martial arts, Urban Scouts and more.

The theatrical ministries include art, drama, singing and dance instruction.

The Refuge Community Development Center offers a compassionate “hand-up” to those who truly want a way out.
